With electricity prices remaining among the highest Ireland has ever seen, the Irish Government has announced a new round of electricity bill credits for residential customers.
Residential electricity customers will receive a total credit of EUR 450, paid automatically in three instalments to help ease costs over the winter months.
There is no need to apply. If you are a residential electricity customer with an Irish supplier, the credit will be applied automatically to your account.
Please note that this credit applies to electricity customers only and is not available to gas-only accounts.
When will the electricity credits be applied?
The EUR 450 credit will be paid in three instalments:
• First instalment: Between 1 November and 31 December 2023
• Second instalment: Between 1 January and 28 February 2024
• Third instalment: Between 1 March and 30 April 2024
If the credit fully covers your bill, any remaining balance will roll over to your next bill.
If you switch electricity supplier while still in credit, your existing supplier will refund any remaining balance to the bank account used for bill payments.
