A new and innovative digital platform, WeSwitchU, is making waves with energy users across Ireland. Designed to take the stress and hassle out of switching energy suppliers, the platform helps residential customers engage with the energy market while reducing both their energy bills and carbon footprint.

Despite launching just weeks ago, the platform, founded by Limerick native Brendan Halpin, quickly gained attention in the Irish business community. WeSwitchU was selected as one of just 15 Irish businesses to take part in Google’s Adopt a Startup programme, a mentoring initiative aimed at accelerating the growth of high-potential, innovative Irish startups.

With multiple suppliers now active in Ireland’s residential energy market, many homeowners find it difficult to compare options based on cost and environmental impact. Others are unsure of their annual energy consumption. WeSwitchU addresses this by analysing household energy usage data to match customers with the most suitable energy deals for their needs.

By navigating the wide range of offers available, WeSwitchU ensures customers save on their energy bills each year while also reducing carbon emissions. Homeowners benefit from a simple, user-friendly experience without the need to spend hours on comparison sites or filling out forms.

One of WeSwitchU’s most attractive features is that customers only need to sign up once. The service operates on a performance-based fee of 10% of the customer’s savings. The platform tracks energy consumption through a personal dashboard and helps users improve energy efficiency by connecting them with registered local and national contractors.

Commenting on the company’s participation in Google’s Adopt a Startup programme, founder and CEO Brendan Halpin said that many people are unaware that switching energy suppliers is one of the fastest and easiest ways to reduce energy bills.

He explained that while suppliers often offer attractive introductory tariffs, these typically last for 12 months before increasing. By signing up with WeSwitchU, customers are automatically switched to the best available deal for their household each year.

Recent research by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) found that an active customer switching annually over four years could save up to EUR 1,700 on dual fuel, EUR 1,100 on electricity, and EUR 700 on gas. According to Halpin, WeSwitchU is already exceeding these benchmarks based on customer results to date.

WeSwitchU is now open for business, offering a straightforward registration process and a seamless user experience. To check eligibility and get started, visit www.weswitchu.ie.
